I just love catching Bass.  I'm not going to limit myself to one method, and my mind can't be changed.

Give me a lipless crank and a ned rigged TRD and i can catch bass anywhere, anytime.

And for the why?

I can cast a lipless over submerged grass in 1' of water, cast it in a hole in the lily pads and rip it out or yo yo it in open water. I like to fish fast, i also like to catch bass. This lure that way has worked very well for me.

And the ned rig on the rivers or days the bass dont want to bite.

Im actually going to downsize most of my tackle just because no lure, bait, or technique has caught me more bass, or larger bass than those 2.

first,anyway for me will be ok as long as I can catch them. but if I had to choose 1 it would be a plastic worm. when that worm is out there I imagine a fish deciding whether or not to bite it. other times I can see it working along the bottom and feeling everything that's down there.  but that's just me........

For shear numbers, wacky worm on 1/16 head.

For bigger fish during prespawn, jig.

It's not always the deal but Texas rigged piece of plastic makes me happy.

My favourite and most consistent way is with a plastic worm. I like t rig, Shakey head, weightless, and split shot.

As much as I would like to say a jig, I too have to go with a Texas rigged plastic bait. 

When deciding what few lures to keep after collecting for over 6 decades to occasionally back seat bass fishing my choices was based on high catch rates.

I love to catch bass on my jigs so they are the highest quality of lures but they are not the most productive per man hour fished.

Hard baits kept are wooden Sammie, Buck n Brawl, Micheal pooper, LC 98 pointers, custom Bomber 7A’s, Zoner Hunter, Megabass crankbait, a few structure spoons, buzz bait, spinnerbait, swimjigs.

Soft plastics; Roboworms, custom Shad worms, Reapers, Screamers, Flick Shake 4.8, Uptoms, Senko’s.

I take these with me every outing and can’t decide what to use until on the water.

Largemouth: buzzbait, black

 

Smallmouth: walking bait, preferably a Heddon Boyo or Puppy Spook

My favorite method is in the morning with nobody around.

Ned rig. It’s small, it’s works when nothing else does. It’s not the most exciting method, but it flat out catches fish.

Topwater toad... which is basically a finesse buzzbait. 

 

Second would be any sort of swimming bait like a spinnerbait or paddletail. I just love the pronounced THUMP when they're hit. 

 

Least favorite (though I catch most of my fish this way) are the non-moving baits like t-rigs and neko rigs. They work, but they're nowhere near as fun.

… I’m pretty good at it, although you’d never have known that from this mornings performance.

Jigs.  I'm always disappointed when the bass are not biting them.

Live or dead minnow on a ballhead jig with a slip bobber because it allows me to catch all species of fish as i get bored with just bass and i want to take fish home to eat like walleye and panfish not bass.

Also allows me to be lazy and sit in my chair and not exert myself throwin lures a thousand times.

shallow cranking with a squarebill or other crank bait...  i like doing it with my spinning rod.  it's just so low maintenance, and i like constant or semi-constant movement.  i am tied to the bank and do not enjoy carrying lots of rods or gear. i definitely prefer the evening, when it is quiet, warm, calm. sometimes in the summer i can see the bats flying around. 

Nothing like a good JB bite.

Thats a tough one between my two confidence baits.

Tube or weightless worm

No doubt in my mind. It’s a Texas-rigged worm. Sometimes I may TR other baits (craws, Neko Machos, Fat IKA’s) but if I had to pick one method and one bait, it would be a Texas-rigged Zoom Trick. 
 

As much as I love Senkos, my biggest bass have come on a Zoom Trick. To me, there’s nothing like working that bait and then feeling that “tick”, and knowing a bass is inhaling that worm. It may run off with it, it may run towards the boat in deeper water, it may simply stay put and not move at all. But when the hook drives home and the fight is on, it’s magic.
