Site Outage

Hey guys,

Yes, the site was down for quite awhile. It took some time to figure out what happened and then apply the fix.

Essentially, an automatic update to the server operating system contained a known issue that caused it to disconnect from the database. We had to carefully apply the fix so that data wasn't lost, and we were successful.

Thanks for being patient!

I had to call my therapist and pay after hours rates. I'm not emotionally prepared for this kind of thing.

I kept getting this cloud flare issue.

I could open the website itself but the forums were not accessible.

Thought it was on my end.

Thanks @Glenn for the effort and successful fix.

A number of you tried sending me messages on Facebook, Instagram, text, etc asking about the outage, and I'm sorry that I didn't respond. With so many people pinging me, I just cannot provide individual updates when I'm focusing on solving the outage.

I am guilty as charged.

But it's all good.

We just missed you @Glenn

So tell me again how much this forum means to so many of us . . . . .

And here I though it was because I still have a iPhone 8.

I had to go to YouTube for my fix. I was having withdrawals.

I somehow stumbled upon an old Googan video and ended up watching the whole thing. Thankfully it was all a dream.

Hi everyone

Glad you-all, are still here…..It was pretty rough….

Watching the load bar go part way across the screen….. then nothing but the error screen…. What a pit fall.

It was like waiting for your ride by the road in the dark and cold….. seeing headlights, thinking, there they are, getting closer and closer. Then the car drives right by….

@Glenn Thank you for fixing the problem. "Absense makes the heart grow fonder" sure applies here. BR is the best! It's a big part of my morning routine to read and enjoy the photos!

Bet I'm not the only one with cleanest cache I've ever had.

Yeah, I scrubbed mine too. I was tempted to email Glenn, but figured he was being pounded with others in withdrawal.

To err is human … to really screw things up requires a computer. But all is well again.

Hello, my name is Ron,,,,and I have an addiction.

Finding my self checking in every fifteen minutes and searching for roundabout solutions was emotionally draining.

I thought “what if it was gone forever “? I can make it!

Then I slapped myself

Glad it’s back. Thank you, that was a close one…………I’m retired, I have neither time or resources for a new therapist.

How did you manage to go a whole 15 mins? I was checking like every 5. Wife even asked if I needed to go check myself in somewhere…
