  • I purchased my Lifetime Fishing Permit in my early 20's, the small investment when I was young has already paid for its self. I never have to buy one in Nebraska again, it is always in my tackle bag.

I buy a couples conservation MN resident angling license every year for $27.  So if you divide it by two, half for me and half for my wife, that's $13.50 per year for me to fish here in MN.

I don't ice fish so I get about 6 months out of it.  The conservation version is half the price of a normal one ($26.00), and allows me to keep half the posted daily bag limit of each fish in the regs.  I hardly ever keep anything so this is the way to go for me.  My wife fishes about 3 for 4 times/season.

$13.50 IMO is dirt cheap for me to fish for 6 months here.

Covers the ice fishing season.

Well, not so much this year.

This year it was $26 for an annual Resident license and

$76 non Resident

Next years info is not available yet.

In 2025 if I'm still here, I'll be eligible for the Senior (65 and over) Resident license

for a whopping $11 Bucks.

It pays to get old.

Yep, and that’s up from last year’s $58.58. I get a second rod “validation” which last year was $18.36 so I sorta wonder what that increase will be. But hey, ya got to pay to play and I’m OK with that.

Wishful thinking & hoping for the best.

Just to freshwater fish here in SC is 30 bucks for residents for 3 yrs now. At age 65 you can purchase a licence for life really affordable I don't remember how much. Non resident is 35.00 annual and their is a 14 day for 11.00.

I signed up for auto renewal last year when they went to calendar year and my 2024 license doesn't show a price increase for basic or double rod.

MI was $26 in 2023 for all species.

If you ever find yourself feeling down about the cost of a State fishing license, try this simple exercise:

Divide the cost by the number of hours per year that you fish in your state while enjoying its natural resources.

Then look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, honestly: What other activity could I possibly do that would be greater bang-for-the-buck in total recreational value per hour given this usage fee?

Even at California prices, I can't think of anything that comes close.

Will let you know sometime in April when my current license expires.

Mine is free here in Missouri also. Im 66

Don't remember 16 years back, but I bought a 65 and over lifetime hunting, fishing license and trout stamp, it was very inexpensive.  I live on Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas, and pay $10 per year to hunt and fish on the Missouri side.

Senior (me) free freshwater. Fish below I-10 5.00 dollars lifetime for saltwater.

Non senior: $25/45.00. Does not include salt.

The Magnolia State.

Good Fishing.

16.50 over 60, of course they tack another 6.45 just cause it’s Massachusetts and they love to tack on little extras, you should see the electric bill.

Missouri resident license is $12.00. Nonresident is $49.00.  They expire at the end of February but are valid for the entire year.
