I don’t think I’m buying any tackle for 2026

Featured Replies

My wife got a new cabinet for the basement. So I put my stuff In it instead of the plastic dresser I had. I organized it. And honestly I don’t think I need to buy a dang thing this coming season lol. I’m gonna try hard to work with what I have on hand.

Joe said "TRY". Pretty funny.😁

Yeah, good luck with that.  The first time you go out and are wishing for something just a little different….

Pretty sure the word "compulsive" could be attached to my deal.

Are we a bunch of non-supporting enablers or what ?

I tried this for a New Years resolution in 2024.

I made it until February and then I had to replenish some line and plastics.

If you have everything that needs frequent replacing, it could conceivably be done. But it will take a lot of willpower for 12 months.

There is a work around. Receiving tackle gifts do not count towards a purchase.

I tried that last year and I made a huge dent in my expenses and I used a lot of tackle I had.  It’s a good goal.  Needless to say - I still bought myself a few toys but it was mostly stuff I really wanted to catch a fish with and not just “let’s see if THiS works” ad infinitum and I’m happy about that.

I had the same intention but when you see some of the sales going on with stuff you know you are going to use (and is only going up in price , like everything else) it just make sense for me.

I will absolutely cut back on "this might work stuff". Too much of that .

I quit buying tackle once, it was the worst day of my life.

And Pat understands!! I know a few lil things will pop up. But I’m not buying crap just to try. Unless a goal is in mind.

Exactly there will be tiny purchases. And replenishing what I have that really works. But none of the let’s buy stuff that’s on sale just to try for the sake of buying it

That’s the first sign you should break ground on a new garage..

Don't say NO MORE TACKLE, you don't need that negatively in your life!!!

Good luck, I say that all the time, then a good deal just happens to come by.

My wife also wanted to buy me a new cabinet for my tackle.

Needed to run it by NASA and gets a little dicey when the wind picks up but it works.

Takes up very little floor space so that’s a plus.
