Went out fishing at 6...bass were a bust but ended up catching a drum and a nice catfish so it was still moderately productive. Only gonna be 82 here today...got a loin and a rack of baby backs on the smoker as we speak. Everybody enjoy it.

Lovely here. High of 78 and partly cloudy. Been down near 50 degrees the last couple nights and feels glorious. Open the windows and let the cool air enter!

Woke up to a fresh 46 degrees and it's currently 66.

I like it.

It’s 80 now, but it was 68 and foggy this morning. Great morning to be on the water early.  Had the 53 acre lake to myself from 4:30-6:30 and then the boats started rolling in. By the time I got off at 9 there were 5 boats and three kayaks so it was pretty crowded. Managed a couple good ones and a couple more smaller ones.

also that. I got tore up yesterday so this morning I was in long sleeves, turtle neck, long pants, and muck boots. They still got my hands and face. 
 

 

I caught some bass this morning and got drenched with rain while doing it. Heading back out now 

@WRB, be happy to swap ya Tom, today it’s gonna 112 up in my part of the state. Hot is hot and it’s predicted to be triple digits all week long going into this Saturday. Have a great Labor Day and stay cool.

First holiday (except Christmas) I've had off in a couple years.   I went fishing this morning.  Caught 11 Bass and a 3 inch bluegill.   It would rain, I'd put on my raincoat, then it would stop raining.  Then I'd take it off, it would start raining, and so on and so on.   I had a good time though.   

Says 88 here, after the last 2 days, 88 doesn't feel anywhere near hot. Y'all stay cool, or warm as the case may be. Have a great day.

58 here this morning and 67 now. The overnight lows around here the next week are very appealing.

It’s 111 now at lake Castiac if you can get there as I5 was closed from a fire 2 days ago....crazy traffic!

Just sitting in the house taking it easy and staying cool hoping no power outages.

I know what ya mean Tom, lots of smoke from the Castaic fire and the Mill fire up in Weed. It’s 103 right now so I’m gonna throw a couple of barley pops in the freezer and go enjoy the pool. Stay cool down there in SoCal this week 

First time I've ever seen Castiac was the other day on a livestream of the fires that were very close to the lake.

 

I was stunned at how small the lake was, for whatever reason I had built the lake up to being huge in my mind.     I can't imagine how pressured that lake was during the heyday of WR chasing.   

None of the lakes in So. Cali are all that big compared to the rest of the USA.

Thanks Tom.  We have 82 and very windy.  It’s Smokey from the fires south of us but not as bad as last year.  There were over 150 trailers at the launch. All salmon anglers.

Yeah that got me going down the Google Earth rabbit hole......you are spot on correct, I was quite surprised to see the sizes of the lakes, but it makes sense.

Happy Labor Day to all you bassheads. 10hrs of double time and a half today made it easy for the monkey to talk me into yet another rod. I like my new Invoker 7-4 H MF so well I had to buy another. No desire to fish a chatterbait on any of my other rods after getting this one. I like having both a 3/8 and a 1/2 rigged while night fishing so.... What the heck, can't take it with ya right? Can't wait to get back after 'em Wednsday night!!!

60's & 70's in the forecast. Love this weather. Water's back in the mid 70's. Good times on the way!!!

It is hot and humid for the last few days or week here. Suck, haven’t play golf for the past two weeks but at least I can do some fishing in the evening.
