I have been logging my fishing trips since the early 1990's. Looked through some numbers since 2000...

 

Hope to get on the water 25 times this year.

 

Totals through the years...and reasons for gaps: 

2022 = 22

2021 = 23

2020 = 12 (boat renovation)

2014 = 2

2013 = 2

** divorced in 2009...primary custodial parent for my two daughters **

2006 = 1

** moved from Missouri to Nebraska **

2003 = 1

2002 = 5

2001 = 9

2000 = 14

 

I've never kept a log but can safely say that during the time we were raising our children, fishing fell off significantly.

 

Fast forward and since I've retired, I'm averaging 3 days per week from mid March until early November.

Wife and I also spent quite a bit of the summer months in Air bnb's on various lakes where I'll fish everyday, several times a day.

 

25 times for a working man would be great ?

I try to get out and wet a line at least once a week, usually only for an hour or two a day casting from shore with the goal of catching 5 keepers. Some weeks that's every day of the week, some weeks none. Full, legitimate fishing trips are few and far between. 

I don't keep a log every time I fish.  I was very blessed to get out a lot last year.  I start in March and as the water warms I fish more often.  April and May will see me on the water at least once a week.  Sometimes twice and I'll burn vacation time for it.  I slow down in June and by the end of July I'm not fishing much again until October.  I'm down to a couple times a month then but back up to at least once a week in October.  By the time we hit Halloween I'm taking time off again and I'm getting my biggest numbers of fish near Thanksgiving and taking time off work to fish multiple days a week. 

 

I'd estimate that last year was my highest number of days on the water in any year.  I'm sure I hit 40.  Probably more. 

Don't keep a log, but I work four 12's a week, have 5 weeks vacation/personal time, and the kids are grown, and out on their own. I've been right there at 100 days, give or take a couple, for the past couple years. I still wish I could get out more. 

Just track every so often when I want to learn something, but between bank and boat, I’ve probably been running close to 200 days a year for the past 2-3 years. Didn’t track this year but did the year previous, and the trip breakdown would have been about 45% boat, 55% bank.

I went 32 times last season between April and October. I am a working man, have a house, a family, and a dog to attend to as well. I missed a couple trips in May last year because I was moving, otherwise I am usually around 35 trips/season. I try to go 1-2 times/week all season.

 

I only fish from a boat.

A guesstimate. Apr thru Oct, 1 to 2 times a week, so 30 x 1.5

I don't keep a record. My best guess is about 30 trips in 2022. All with the boat. Haven't done any bank fishing in years.

200 days a year is admirable to say the least.

I'm certainly envious.

I go seemingly every Saturday From March until November with a few exceptions when I absolutely have to do something.

 

I would assume you live nearby a body or bodies of water? 

I for one don't, but if I did I would fish wayyyyyyyy more often!

Not nearly enough ?

I’m about where most of you are, 25-35 trips. I start in march and finish around October, normally getting out once a week or so. I have a flexible job (which was a little light on work last year) so get to pick my days and if I have a free afternoon I just run out for an evening session. Some weeks I get two or three days, some weeks I don’t get out. 
 

my best year was when I lived in Cleveland doing a year in industry work placement. I was 5 minutes to the river and I averaged 6 days a week that year. September through April was steelhead. Then it was smallies and carp for the summer. 

Not enough for me either. Water was low to start. Then it just got worse. It was hot also. 1 or 2 one to two hour trips a week. I would have tried to put more time in if the fishing was better. It was just rough all season.

I’m about 8 miles from the nearest boat ramp, and have half a dozen HOA ponds within walking distance, and numerous park lakes within a 20 minute drive…and I’m retired, so I try and get out for at least an hour or two 4-6 times a week, even through the winter. 

Last year all of my trips totaled 41 days.  Some of those trips were a couple of hours long, and some of those trips were over a weekend.

I don't keep an official record. But I normally go between April and November 3-5 times a week. Some weeks might be twice. Some week might be 5 times. The only reason it is limited to 5  is I avoid the weekends when the places have to many people around. I didn't do the math but it is a fair amount of days. Now some days out I might only fish for an hour or two. Others I might fish 4 hours if I am up to it. I am disabled and not always up to going. Or if I go I can't stay to llong before I have to go home to recover.

I fished 122 times in '22.  I work 24 hour shifts and we're empty nesters. We also live 1/2 a block from the ocean so I can go striper fishing whenever I catch the tides right. 

 

I'm very lucky.

I fish 150 days plus and this year will be the same, Coz my plan always the same.

Well that’s pretty cool! I would end up fishing 24/7 with one of those wheelie carts for surf fishing .

In 2022 I made 70 or 80 full day trips in the boat and 30 or 40 short(hour or two) bank fishing trips to my pond. I'd like to fish more but it takes my back several days to recover after riding waves in my Jon.

I didn’t go ENOUGH 

I didn't start keeping a log of my trips until 2018, but here's my yearly trips for each year:

 

2018: 83

2019: 115

2020: 124

2021: 110

2022: 100

I'd say I go fishing about 50 times a year.

And for a large portion of that he never even changed lures either. Walking distance, one lure. Over and over. That’s how you pile up trips quickly. Dude’s a freaking record holder.
