Woody B
I had a hitch hiker today when I loaded my boat. The good thing is it's a harmless water snake. They look similar to a Copperhead, but a Copperhead would have bitten me when I picked it up. 9
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 16 Global Moderator Share Posted March 16 I don’t know @Woody B, I’ve picked up many water snakes and they bite like crazy. They are much quicker than their terrestrial friends

Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 19 Super User Share Posted March 19 Mixed it up a bit for St Patty's this year. Smoked the corned beef and made a Reuben pizza for dinner. Gotta say it was pretty darn good.

They are much quicker than their terrestrial friends I'll second that. I was fascinated by snakes growing up and kept most of our local species as pets for awhile. Most snakes will chill out and allow you to handle them pretty quickly. Water snakes are ill tempered and stay that way. Never could get one to settle down and quit trying to bite me..
Super User Jar11591 Posted March 19 Super User Share Posted March 19 @NorcalBassin I would absolutely demolish that pizza. Looks amazing. Rueben pizza is underrated. That time of year to get the seeds going.

I knew he didn't qualify for the classic this year and would probably be at the expo. Saw several other pros, but Ike was the only one I wanted a picture with.

Super User gimruis Posted March 29 Super User Share Posted March 29 Went to the Science Museum of MN with my family. Saw a documentary at the Omnitheatre, checked out some dinosaur bones, and overloaded my brain with plenty of information.

They also have a race simulator that I partook in. You race a simulated T-Rex for a 40 yard dash. Let's just say I didn't win. 1

Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 31 Super User Share Posted March 31 Had a flock of turkeys fly out right in front of me on narrow a 2-lane highway while doing 55 mph. Amazing how much damage a 10-15lb bird can do when you're at that speed. I ended up hitting 3 of them with one off the windshield (no damage), one off the bumper (very small dent), and one through the plastic grill (broke it into numerous pieces and pushed all the way into the radiator). Radiator wouldn't hold fluid, so I had to have a 3/4 ton diesel towed to the shop because of a 10-15lb bird. 😆

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 31 Global Moderator Share Posted March 31 @NorcalBassin, wild turkey on the cooker for this week ?

That hopefully already deceased bird was pinned in the grille debris for a couple seconds and then somehow worked its way directly to the path of the rear driver's side tire. 7000 pound tortilla press merged that poor bird with the pavement. Even cousin Eddie wasn't touching that one. 😬
Super User gimruis Posted March 31 Super User Share Posted March 31 @NorcalBassin I’ve always wondered what kind of damage a wild turkey would cause when hit at a higher speed. I imagine there was an explosion of feathers upon impact.
