Much like @NorcalBassin my wife and I visited our son yesterday for parents day which included a football game at the prettiest stadium I’ve ever been at which isn’t a lot. Seeing the American Flag waving in the wind against the beautiful background had me thinking what a great country I’m lucky enough to be living in. @12poundbass Congratulations to your son as that’s a huge accomplishment being a Freshman. 

@Eric 26 I recognize that stadium. 6poundbass went to a couple football camps there. GVSU has a pretty good football program.
 

There’s no better site than seeing old glory flying high.

@12poundbass It was quite a difference watching GVSU currently 3-1 in Division 2 vs visiting our daughter and watching Illinois Wesleyan’s football team Division 3 let alone the difference in the stadiums, a bigger difference between Division 2&3 than I realized.

Nice way to start a day. Nearly full moon lighting the way.

It's rough, but somebody's got to do it. 

This is from a customer’s house today. I fished this lake back in the 80s and did pretty good . I secured permission from the owner today  to fish . Another good thing is he’s friends with the owner of my work company, so there’s a trust there. It’s a very cool body of water , private, and UF stocked it. Only 20 minutes from my  house…

Another day on the water, post cold front. 

The agony of defeat. He did his best to smile.

@whitwolf our freshman team hasn’t won a game since September of 2023 and Thursday they scored their first points in four weeks. It’s tough watching those kids give it their all and come up short every game.

My Father’s friend was grouse hunting at the Arrowhead this last weekend and stopped to take this photo from his truck while traversing a back country road. It just stood there while he took the shot and then bounded away a few seconds later.

Well, the season is officially over and they ended up with a record of 6-3 which is the best record in 5 years for the high school football program. I’ve said for years this group of kids will do something special. He was called up to this team and fit right in and helped them out! A freshman called up to JV and also saw playing time at varsity…. I couldn’t be more proud of this kid!
