Prayers and thoughts needed.

My parents were at Lake of the Woods this week pre-fishing for the circuit championship next week and they had a serious accident.  As they were approaching the dock yesterday on their way in, my Mother attempted to step out of the boat and slipped.  She hit her left arm and then her face on the dock when she fell.  She broke her left forearm in multiple locations and dislocated her elbow.  Additionally, she needed stitches in her head above her left eye.  The Baudette hospital kept her over night but it is not a trauma center equipped to conduct orthopedic surgery.  She is having that done as we speak at a hospital about 10 miles from my house.

I'm going to go visit her in the morning and bring some flowers.

Sorry to hear Gim, and that had to be a long tough drive from Baudette to the metro area. Thoughts and prayers to your mom for speedy healing!

Thanks for the posts here.

They delayed surgery until this morning.  Last night was pretty rough.  Constant searing pain when the pain meds would wear off.  They had to pull on her broken arm to get the elbow back in the socket.  That had to be unbearable.

My Father is here keeping me updated.  I plan to go visit around lunch time.

She is looking pretty rough and cannot do much. They are keeping her there tonight for observation.

Recovery will be months down the road and there is going to be a lot of physical therapy too. But I’m sure she’ll be fishing again next spring.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They’ve helped.
