Your crankbaits that are guaranteed to catch a bass?

Featured Replies

Going to hook my brother up with some confidence inspiring cranks.  He is mostly a crappie guy, but he chases bass a few times a year.  Give me your shallow, mid, and deep sure bet cranks.  So far I've got...  LC RC .7, LC skeet mini MR, and LC mini DR.

My number 1 crank that I have caught the most fish and the most species that I never fish without one being tied on is the SPRO Little John shallow crank with the computer chip bill.  It’s the original.  The magic color is Cell Mate.  If I only had one crank, that would be the one.

I like me some LJ's.  When they came out around '06, they were $7 ?.  Now they're over $13 , but that's another topic.

Shallow --  6th. Sense Square bills from small to magnum.  6th Sense Movement 80X Academy Sprots square H2O square bills, and my favorite old Bagely Balsa B's, running low on these.

Mid.--  Bomber 7A, Rebel Deep WeeR Norman Little N, Spro Rock Crawler, Rapala DT 6,8, and 10, H20 express Model M.

Deep.  6th sense cloud nine series 10,15,20  Strike King 5xd 6xd, Norman DD22 Rapala DT 16

Rapala DT-6 in baby bass color.

Rapala Dt 06 Baby Bass

For a true crankbait, it's the Duo Kabuki 55SR. I've had great days on the Booyah XCS 100, Rapala JSR5 and a few others, but these are my go to baits.

I had to think about this one . The Rapala Fat Rap is probably the most consistent bass catching  crank I have used . Best used with a spinning rod 8 to 10 lb test and runs 5 to 6 foot deep .

Storm Subwart in various colors for a shallow crankbait.

Don't really have an answer for the mid or deep version.  I really don't fish them much and when I do I rarely catch fish lol

Rapala DT 6 in bluegill for me since that's either the primary forage or that color is close enough to the primary forage.

For sub 55 degree water I grab the OG6 instead.

I actually found on in a tree this spring and have yet to fish it.  That color too.

The OP needs to revise the title to catch bass anglers?

When I sold 99% on bass tackle kept 2 medium divers; Bomber 7A custom painted Poe’s ghost color, that is all needed to catch bass where I fish.

Tom

Like the rest of you, I own a ton of crankbait's by all of the major manufacturers. My confidence crank? It's an Academy Sports house brand, H20 Express medium diver in craw red. I don't know the stocking number.

My old fishing buddy even gave it a name, Ol Red. The bill is beat up and the body chewed up now but it still does the job. I keep fresh Gamakatsu hooks on it.

“But there’s no guarantee on the box.”

Couldn’t resist the quote by Ted in the movie Tommy Boy.

Rapala Fat Rap, Shad Rap and DT's.  fat Rap and Shad Rap in the original silver and black Rapala color.  Spro RK55's, The Spro Little John has already been mentioned. The Duel Hardcore Crankbait +3's and +4's are favorites of mine too.

shallow, mans baby 1-.......mid ...bomber square bill.......got nothing deep........being in Florida I don't fish crank baits that deep......just saying.....

oh yeah I forgot a Rattletrap.....

Spro Little John in shallow, mid and deep diver is my top producing crankbait.  Rock Crawler 55 has also been good to me.

Why? He's asking people which crankbaits they personally have had the most success with when fishing for bass. Not "what crankbaits look the prettiest to you".

Duel Hardcore 4+,5+ and 7+. Straight up winners!

KVD square bill in perch.

All the DT's, best in Iconelli Smash color, chosen depending on water depth.
